At many businesses, customers may only see the entrance or office areas, making their cleanliness vital. They may take their business elsewhere if the surfaces are messy or downright dirty. It shows disrespect for customers.
 
 

Daily tasks:

  • Wipe down horizontal surfaces and doorknobs with a disinfectant; tidy any materials left out such as brochures and flyers.
  • Wipe fingerprints from light switches and door frames.
  • Spot clean windows, glass and any painted surfaces.
  • Vacuum or otherwise clean seating of debris.
  • Remove trash and replace bag if necessary.
  • Vacuum or sweep/mop all floors.

Weekly tasks:

  • Clean all windows and glass.
  • Polish any metal, such as bars between hard and soft surfaces, on floors.
  • Vacuum air vents.

 

Bathrooms

If customers have access to your office bathrooms, they should be spotless. Imagine their disgust if they are not.

Daily tasks:

  • Clean toilets inside and out with a disinfectant.
  • Wipe down horizontal surfaces, hand dryers, paper towel holders, light switches, and door handles with a disinfectant.
  • Clean mirrors; spot clean windows, glass, and any painted surfaces.
  • Remove trash and replace bag.
  • Sweep/mop all floors.
  • Restock toilet paper, paper towels if applicable, and soap.

Weekly tasks:

  • Vacuum air vents.
  • Wipe down stalls with a disinfectant.

Kitchen and Lunchroom

Common kitchens  and lunchrooms are perhaps the most difficult areas in an office to keep clean. Fortunately, customers typically do not see these areas, but employees do so be sure to set rules for their use and enforce them.

Daily tasks:
